Time: 2 hours. Homemade tomato sauce makes the tastiest pizza. Let it cook slow and long for the thickest results.

How to Make It

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes, sugar, chile flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring often, until very thick, about 1 1/2 hours. Stir in oregano.

very good recipe; and fun to make your own pizza. The quality of the sauce depends a lot on the quality of the tomatoes; use a meaty one

Makes great pizza sauce. I would definitely make it again. I added a few chopped, dried tomatoes to give it plenty of body and flavor. A good way to get rid of those extra tomatoes that are a little over ripe. Would be great over pasta, too. The longer you cook it the thicker it gets.
