Yield
7 servings (serving size: 1 breast half)

This is a perfect basic grilled chicken recipe, simple and versatile enough to meal prep, whip up on a hectic weeknight, or serve to company. Make sure to cook the chicken breasts until the internal temperature reaches a safe 165 degrees—about six minutes on each side. Save three of these grilled chicken breast halves to make our Hearts of Romaine Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken. Garnish the plate with grilled lemon slices.

How to Make It

Step 1

Prepare grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag; seal. Marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove chicken from bag; discard marinade. Sprinkle chicken evenly with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Place chicken on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 6 minutes on each side or until done.

I made this with fresh squeezed lemon juice (others just can't compare) and added a bit more garlic. I loved it! Perfect for me; easy to prepare, easy portion control, and delicious and healthy! I paired it with grilled asparagus. Perfect!

Good standard grilling recipe, I marinated mine for about an hour, but forgot the salt and pepper, didn't miss it.

My family raved about this recipe. I let it marinate several hours and then "grilled" it on a grill pan indoors. I had very little time, so the chicken had not been pounded, but it came out unbelievably tender and full of flavor.

Great recipe for weeknight meals. Not exactly company worthy but wonderful nonetheless. Also works great with pork chops. The lemon really comes through and brightens up the meat, lending a nice fresh taste. Family thought it was excellent.

Added extra squeezed lemon juice. My kids and I loved it. The extra will work great on a salad. Enjoy!

Easy, quick and VERY reliable. I've made this at least a dozen times and it's always good. One of my daughter's favorites. I always pound the chicken to even thickness. Have made on the grill or indoors on the grill pan. Good hot or left-over on a salad. I like to marinate it all day and it's extra lemon-y.
