Sipping our way through brunch menus taught us that Manhattan lovers might also enjoy a lighter version of their preferred cocktail in the form of a whiskey sour or a relative called the Artist’s Special. We took on the task of incorporating bitters into our favorite bourbon brunch cocktail and landed on The Texas Special, featuring an all-star line up from the finest Texas-based craft producers. This drink is bright and vibrant, buoyed by fragrant Rio Grande valley Meyer lemons and spices, serving up a delightful way to celebrate the best of what Texas has to offer.
Through the art of bitters we marry the worlds of herbal tinctures and craft cocktails. We founded Salud! Bitters Co., a small-batch, handcrafted bitters company in Austin, Texas, using responsibly foraged, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The bitter roots and barks tinctured in Salud! products may support liver function and health, help regulate blood sugar, and assist in digestion. Sip on them early and often.
