How to Make It

Step 1

Cook beef and onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until browned; stir to crumble. Stir in peas.

Step 2

While the meat mixture is cooking, heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add potatoes; cook 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Add broth and curry; cook for 2 minutes. Add potato mixture, chutney, salt, and pepper to meat mixture; simmer 1 minute. Sprinkle with cilantro, if desired.

This recipe is fine, but not "know-your-socks-off". I added the called amount of chutney and it was undetectable. I added a lot more (maybe half of the jar?) and it was better, but still not amazing.

great recipe!!!! i've made this numerous times and it's always very yummy. i do substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef to make the recipe healthier. i also use whatever potatoes i have in the house, doesn't seem to make that much of a difference to me. and since i have a few different recipes that use mango chutney, all the ingredients are usually in my pantry so this is a quick go to recipe. definitely a good family recipe - i serve over rice to make my husband happy and ground turkey is easy for my small children's little fingers to pick up and chew.

Good family-style recipe. My changes: used only 8 oz. beef, added garlic, turmeric, ginger, and coriander along with some crushed red pepper. Served with stir-fired okra,and a yogurt-spinach raita.
