How to Get a Free Starbucks Drink Through the End of December
Attend a Pop Up Cheer Party during the coffee chain’s 10 Days of Cheer, get a free drink
When Starbucks starts celebrating the holidays, it goes hard, and this year, Starbucks is going to keep the holiday spirits—and caffeine—flowing until the new year. That's because starting today, December 23, Starbucks will be celebrating 10 Days of Cheer by giving out free Starbucks drinks to customers. And we're not just talking about black coffee, here. No, if you go to one of Starbucks so-called "Pop Up Cheer Parties," you can get a fancy, tall espresso beverage for free, be it a latte or a flat white or even one of the signature holiday drinks, like a chestnut praline latte or a peppermint mocha. No matter what drink you order, though, it'll be served up in one of the red holiday cups, which, this year, featured 13 different customer designs.
Your window to getting one of these free Starbucks drinks is limited, though. According to a statement from Starbucks, sent to Extra Crispy via email, "The Cheer Parties will pop up at 100 stores per day, 1-2 p.m. local time, over 10 days." That means the locations will change every day, so customers can check the Starbucks website each morning to find out where to get free coffee that day.
Customers can also celebrate the 10 Days of Cheer—which, again, will last until January 1, 2017, because who says the holiday cheer has to end after Christmas—by getting a Cheer Card from participating Starbucks stores. Possible perks of the Cheer Card include discounts on holiday drinks, like a holiday spice flat white or a spiced sweet cream cold brew, and food. Sadly, the fruitcake Frappuccino won't be available to continue the holiday party, though that might be for the best.
